Maximise the amount you give through GiftAid
Incredibly quick and simple, using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, The London & Slough Run will receive an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue.
Higher rate taxpayers are also eligible to reclaim as much as £23 from the taxman for every £100 donated to charity, by including details of their GiftAid donations on their Self Assessment form.
To donate using GiftAid simply click here to complete your GiftAid declaration form – it’s as easy as that!
Make a Bequest
Help The London & Slough Run with a bequest. Gifts left to The London & Slough Run may be tax-deductible and with suitable planning, you may be able to make a significant bequest to support our work without incurring estate taxation. Before proceeding with a bequest, please consult your tax advisor.
There are also online will-writing web sites such as Ten Minute Will that allow you to draw up wills including bequests to charities.
These paragraphs and other pages covering this subject on The London & Slough Run web site ares not legal documents and should not be taken as a statement or interpretation of the law.
Payroll Giving
If your employer runs a Payroll Giving Scheme, you can donate to your chosen charities from your salary before tax is deducted, so you get tax relief straight away. For example, if you are a high rate taxpayer and you donate £100 a month, you only pay £60. Even if your employer has not got one set up, it might be worth suggesting they do.
Gifts of shares and securities, land or buildings
You can get income tax relief when you donate quoted shares and securities to charity. For example, if you donate shares worth £1000, you could reduce your income tax bill by £400. No capital gains tax will be due on the gift.
For more information see your Tax Return Guide or go to http://www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk
